Job Summary: We are seeking a responsible and compassionate Kennel Attendant to join our team. The Kennel Attendant will be responsible for the daily care and well-being of our animal guests, including feeding, cleaning, and providing exercise and socialization. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Feed and water animals according to their individual needs
- Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and other animal living areas
- Provide exercise and socialization for animals
- Monitor animal behavior and report any concerns to management
- Administer medication and treatments as directed by management or veterinary staff
- Assist with grooming and bathing of animals
- Answer phones and assist customers with inquiries and reservations
- Maintain accurate records of animal care and behavior
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience working with animals preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed
Physical Demands: The Kennel Attendant will be required to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time. The position may also require bending, stooping, and kneeling.
Work Environment: The Kennel Attendant will work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal hair, dander, and odors. The position may also require working outdoors in various weather conditions.
