Position Summary :
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive background in accounting, financial reporting, and analysis, with a strong focus on overseeing overall financial operations. This role requires expertise in managing financial audits, board and investor presentations, team leadership, and a deep understanding of financial processes, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory valuation, and payroll management.
Key Responsibilities :
Financial Reporting & Analysis : Oversee and manage the preparation of accurate financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and other financial documents in accordance with US GAAP accounting standards.
Audit & Compliance : Lead the coordination and execution of financial audits. Ensure all financial practices comply with legal and regulatory requirements, internal controls, and industry best practices.
Team Management : Manage and mentor a team of accountants responsible for accounts receivable, accounts payable, expenses accruals, and general accounting functions. Provide leadership, guidance, and support to ensure the team performs efficiently and effectively.
Inventory Accounting : Oversee the accounting of inventory, including valuation, tracking, and reconciliation. Ensure proper costing of products sold and accurate financial records related to inventory.
Payroll Management : Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll, including understanding payroll tax obligations, deductions, and benefit administration.
Cost Analysis : Determine and analyze the costs of products sold, including direct and indirect costs, and ensure accurate cost accounting practices.
Board & Investor Presentations : Assist in preparing and presenting financial data for board meetings, investor reports, and other strategic discussions. Present financial performance and key metrics clearly and concisely.
Financial Strategy & Forecasting : Collaborate with senior leadership to develop financial strategies and forecasts. Support decision-making with financial insights and analysis.
Advanced Excel & Reporting Tools : Utilize advanced Excel functions to analyze, consolidate, and report financial data. Prepare financial models, forecasts, and projections.
Software Proficiency : Preferably experience working with QuickBooks Online and other accounting software to streamline financial processes, reporting, and management.
Qualifications :
Experience : At least 7 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, financial analysis, or related fields. Previous experience in a Finance Controller or similar role is highly preferred.
Education : Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA or CMA qualification is a plus.
Skills :
In-depth knowledge of US GAAP accounting standards .
- Strong experience with inventory accounting and costing .
- Experience with payroll management and understanding of payroll tax obligations.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel , including pivot tables, macros, and financial modeling.
- Experience working with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, particularly for board and investor meetings.
- Proven leadership abilities in managing and developing a team of accountants.
Other : Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
