As the Retail Director at Tailwind, you will oversee all retail operations within our airport locations, ensuring that we consistently deliver exceptional customer service, drive revenue growth, and maintain high operational standards. You will work closely with the Senior Leadership team to shape the company’s retail strategy, manage a team of store managers, and ensure that our retail spaces provide travelers with a seamless, enjoyable shopping experience. Roles & Responsibilities:

• Directing location managers while supporting their product needs from the Wilmington office.
• Frequent visits to locations to maintain store appearances, organization, etc.
• Planning store layouts
• Hiring staff
• Organizing initial deliveries
• Setting up POS's
• Unpacking boxes
• Directing store set-ups and retail staff training
• Managing customer demand, including price, quality, and availability
• Control and Manage inventory levels
• Update Upper Management on current market trends
• Enforce store policy
• Negotiate price breaks with vendors
• Manage financial budgets
• Participate and compile physical inventories
• Analyzing consumer buying patterns and predicting future trends
• Regularly reviewing performance indicators, such as sales and discount levels
• Managing plans for stock levels
• Reacting to changes in demand and logistics
• Meeting suppliers and negotiating terms of contract
• Maintaining relationships with existing suppliers and sourcing new suppliers for future products
• Liaising with other departments within the organization to ensure projects are completed
• Attending trade fairs to select and assemble a new collection of products
• Participating in promotional activities
• Writing reports and forecasting sales levels
• Presenting new ideas to Upper Management
• Liaising with shop personnel to ensure supply meets demand
• Getting feedback from customers
• Training and mentoring junior staff
• Investigating wholesale opportunities that can be based from our warehouse in Wilmington.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Retail Management, or a related field (preferred).
• 5 years of experience in retail management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience in driving sales growth, leading teams, and managing operations.
• Strong analytical abilities with a knack for interpreting data and making informed decisions.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Background check required.

• Corporate home base in Wilmington, NC

Salary:

• $95,000-$105,000 per year.
