Raw Materials Store-person
Te Tūranga - The Role
Are you an organised and detail-oriented individual We have an exciting opportunity for a Entry Level Raw Materials Store-person to join our high-performing team at Tait Communications in Christchurch.
You will be responsible for receiving, storing, and supplying materials to production - including raw materials, sub-assemblies, and finished products.
This is a self-managed position where you will have the autonomy to organise your workload and meet daily and monthly performance targets. You will work with our mainframe SAP system and other computer tools, collaborating with a broad range of teams to ensure smooth operations.
The duties of the role will include:
- Identifying and verifying stock and quantities as per our information system
- Receiving stock within the appropriate PC application
- Allocating stock to storage zones and applying correct labelling
- Following FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures for stock handling
- Using PC applications to manage stock transfers
- Handling ESD (Electrostatic Discharge), MSL (Moisture Sensitivity Level), and mechanical products appropriately
- Issuing stock to production areas and delivering stock to meet daily schedules
- Picking and delivering sales orders, requisitions, and internal mail as required
- Maintaining accurate records of stock movement using PC applications
- Completing material issues and receiving stock for sub-contracting purchase orders
- Performing general store maintenance, including rubbish and recycling collection and following 5S principles
- Driving an electric forklift (training and certification provided)

To be successful in this role, you will have relevant experience in stock control, warehousing, or a related field. You will also bring:
- Competency with PC applications in relation to inwards goods, sub-contracting, and enquiry sessions
- Database and email experience
- An understanding of the procedures for material returns and parcel deliveries for other departments
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to learn and develop self
- Self-motivated, with the ability to plan your own workload
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in stock handling
- The ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively
- A proactive attitude and problem-solving mindset
