Director, Technical Delivery

Position Overview

As the Senior Leader of the Technical Direction Department, the primary mission of this role is to ensure the delivery of world-class technical direction across all project types delivered by TAIT. The Director of Technical Direction will bring deep domain expertise and technical knowledge, leading teams that reflect the same high standards.

This role requires a clear understanding of the key differences in technical direction approaches across TAIT’s diverse markets, while unifying the team under a shared vision of excellence. The Director will define and communicate what technical direction represents at TAIT, both internally and externally, ensuring alignment with the company’s position as a leader in the live experience industry.

The Director is responsible for establishing expectations and delivering technical direction at the highest level. This includes developing the vision, growth strategy, and staffing plan for the department. The role also requires ensuring that all projects are completed within agreed timeframes and budgets, supported by the creation, monitoring, and reporting of metrics and KPIs to measure and improve departmental effectiveness.

The Director will lead, motivate, and inspire a global team of diverse and exceptional Technical Directors, fostering an inclusive culture of accountability, agility, and collaboration.

Essential Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Minimum Qualifications

Education Requirements

Minimum:Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Business Management, Construction Management, Theater Design/Technology, or a related field from an accredited institution.

Experience Requirements

• 10 Years of Experience:Proven leadership and management experience.
• 5 years of Experience:In the entertainment or live event industry, specifically related to technical disciplines.
• 5 years of Experience:Designing and executing shows across multiple venue formats, including theaters, arenas, stadiums, green-field sites, and non-dedicated performance spaces.
