Position Purpose
The Industrial Maintenance Electrician is responsible for supporting and maintaining the company’s facility buildings and equipment. Their duties include but are not limited to preventative maintenance programs, installs, trouble shooting, and repairs for facility electrical distribution systems, lighting systems, apparatus and devices.
Essential Responsibilities
- Ability to read and understand system schematics, specifications, and performance data to determine configuration and purpose of system components such as compressors, motors, pumps, fans, switches, controls, relays, transformers, contacts, etc.
- Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and building equipment. Connects power supply wires to machines and building equipment, connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.
- Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, motor starters, MCC panels, MCC circuits, variable frequency drives and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and components.
- Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, and motors, and sensing devices.
- Will be responsible of all 3 phase 480 / 277 VAC, 3 phase 120 / 208 VAC, and 120 / 240 VAC equipment.
- Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.
- Respond to work order tickets in a prompt manner; close out tickets as completed.
- Performs preventative maintenance tasks on all electrical equipment and completes documentation
- Work in a variety of different disciplines – Electric, HVAC, Plumbing, carpentry and general maintenance.
- Work with co-workers in a professional manner; build credibility and trust.
- Communicate with management.
- Manage priorities as they change throughout the shift.
- Keep a clean, organized, and safe workspace, including tools and equipment.
- Ensure TAIT’s 5 standards of care are coordinated into daily activities : Safety, Quality, Team, Schedule, and Cost.
- Take ownership for decisions, actions, performance, and behavior.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Attend meetings, seminars, and training sessions as required.
