General Purpose of Position:
Responsible for assisting the Purchasing Manager in the source selection and procurement functions for the purchase of select production materials, services, supplies and equipment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Place and run reports on orders to ensure delivery requests are met. Create PO’s
- Expedite open orders and resolve immediate issues such as price discrepancies, over or under shipment quantities or defective material.
- Coordinate with freight forwarder and broker on inbound shipments.
- Receive orders, verify accuracy of invoices and maintain inventory.
- Manage returns including requesting return authorizations (RA’s), follow through on RA’s through replacements or credit and close RA’s. Document total issues for vendor matrix.
- Conduct visual inspection of inventory to assure accuracy on monthly basis and provide report via the ‘monthly cycle count’ sheet.
- Maintain sound vendor relationships.
- Expedite orders when necessary.
- Serve as back-up to Production Assistant, as necessary.

Educational Requirements:
- Associates or Bachelors Degree
Training &/or Experience:
- 3 years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
