Good to Know Before You Start!
- It might feel like you are studying for a test at the beginning. Its important that all team members gain a strong knowledge of our oils and services.
- Must maneuver in and out of a shallow 3 deep pit used to position yourself safely under cars.
- You will walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, etc. for extended periods of time and perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling and turning.
- You may need to work in hot/cold weather conditions.
- Always be alert and aware of your surroundings.
- Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Must be able to travel out-of-state for training purposes.
- Shop Managers are the first line of defense for customer service
- Need to be able to communicate effectively, including reading and writing in English.
- Must be adaptive to change
- Need to have reliable transportation.
- Were open seven days a week!
- Be prepared for early hours and working approximately 55 hours per week
What does a Shop Manager (SM) do?
- Check in with customers before they leave the shop to make sure they had a great experience.
- Assume the responsibility and authority of the Shop Manager.
- Running the floor (making sure each team member is where they need to be, ensuring everything has been checked on each vehicle, and every customer is satisfied before they leave).
- Perform opening and closing procedures.
- Counting and adjusting inventory.
- Place supply orders.
- Understand the shops financials to drive results and beat budget
- Ensure customer satisfaction, address complaints and handle claims.
- Responsible for onboarding, training and developing team members.
- Recruiting, Interviewing, Onboarding and Submitting Payroll.
- Conduct monthly and annual team member evaluations.
- Being a role model to other team members in the shop.
- Setting goals and holding team members accountable.
- Team member scheduling.

SMs are also expected to perform all technician duties including:
- Drain motor oil and change oil and fuel filters
- Wash windshield and adjust tire pressure
- Inspect and top off fluids
- Assist the customer in selecting oil type and other services
- Process payment for services performed
- Perform coolant exchanges
- Restock and maintain inventory levels on the floor
- Maintain shop, office, and bathroom cleanliness
- Pass out flyers
- Sign waving
- All other duties as assigned or necessary to operate a successful shop!
