Take Care Private Duty Home Health Care is seeking an experienced leader to help lead our award-winning local company.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our licensed nursing agency that promotes the highest quality of home health care attainable while guaranteeing a fiscally sound operation. As a member of the senior leadership team, you will be expected to coach, mentor, and ensure accountability for your team members while understanding, displaying, and endorsing Take Care’s values, culture, mission, and vision.


As an organization that operates 24/7, Take Care offers a professional, positive, fast-paced environment and requires a leader who has a current registered nurse licensure in the state of Florida, a bachelor’s degree in nursing with a master’s degree preferred and a minimum of 5 years supervisory experience as a nurse preferably with a home health agency. The ideal candidate will be able to develop strong, positive relationships, motivate, lead, and mentor staff, and have the business acumen needed to identify challenges and opportunities for growth and offer effective solutions.


Major Responsibilities include:

Working under the direction of Take Care’s President and the guidance of Take Care’s CEO/Owner, this position will manage the clinical operation of the agency in compliance with Agency for Healthcare Administration (AHCA) regulations and in alignment with Take Care’s strategic plan.


Direct the on-going implementation of Take Care’s Mission and continually support Take Care’s culture through leadership and practice.


Responsible for leading, guiding, directing, and evaluating the work of Clinical Directors and nursing staff at all Take Care offices while maintaining a professional environment in which staff can professionally develop and thrive. This position requires strategic thinking and the on-going development of improved practices while also creating future leaders within the department. This position is a critical connector to all departments within the organization.

Coach, counsel, and consult with home health employees in order to deliver the best possible care to Take Care’s clients.


This is a full-time, benefit eligible, in-office-based position in our corporate Sarasota office. It will require travel to other locations, Venice, and Bradenton, as needed. Take Care is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a drug-free, smoke-free workplace.

Full Job Description

This leadership role provides vision and direction for nursing administration and clinical operations of the agency. This includes oversight and the day-to-day management of the nursing department staff.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Management and staff development including effective delegation of tasks, the ability to effectively manage performance and maintain a positive and inclusive culture.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and administer goals, objectives, and procedures for providing effective and efficient services.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including afternoons, evenings, weekends, holidays, and on call as needed.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills using business acumen including the ability to use sound judgment.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in both verbal and written form with the ability to ensure consistency through communications and communicate complex information in an understandable format.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and time management skills including the ability and flexibility to manage multiple and/or changing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Ability to work independently, determine priorities, work collaboratively, and make appropriate decisions. 
  • Strong customer service skills in order to respond to issues and concerns tactfully and professionally; and maintain composure under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop positive working relationships and maintain a respectful work environment
  • The proven ability to interact successfully with clients, client families and all levels of an organization.
  • Must be available to work in-office, travel to different offices and outside meetings, and have the ability to work remotely if necessary.

Required Education, Experience and Certifications:

  • Current registered nurse licensure in the state of Florida.
  • Meet the criteria as defined in s.400.462 (1), F.S.
  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in nursing or graduate from accredited Nursing program. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of supervisory experience as a registered nurse preferably in a leadership capacity within a home health agency or health care facility.
  • Current CPR certification.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  1. Working under the direction of Take Care’s President and the guidance of Take Care’s CEO/Owner, will oversee nursing leadership, the daily clinical operation of the agency in compliance with Agency for Healthcare Administration (AHCA) regulations and in alignment with Take Care’s strategic plan.
  2. Collaborate with other senior leadership members to set and support the organizational vision and mission, and development of long-term organizational strategy.
  3. Align department goals and processes with organization strategy including developing and maintaining standards that emphasize the best possible quality in home health care. This includes the ability to understand current technologies, processes, and available tools to create efficiencies and new or updated processes.
  4. Accountability for developing a company growth strategy focused on customer needs, new market opportunities, increasing the value to current customers to ensure long-term financial success.
  5. Create, recommend, implement, and maintain policies and records in adherence with AHCA regulations regarding delivery of client care and case management.
  6. Recommend, implement, and maintain service policies and procedures in compliance with state health statutes and administrative rules, pursuant to s.381.0011(4), F.S., which generally conform to recommended CDC and OSHA guidelines for safety, universal precautions, and infection control procedures.
  7. Oversight of company risk management policies to ensure best practices are in place and to enhance current risk management controls. This includes assessing incidents to ensure the safety of clients and employees and to ensure there is minimal or no impact on the long-term relationships with clients and facilities.
  8. Responsible for leading, guiding, directing, and evaluating the work of all nursing staff while maintaining a professional environment in which staff can professionally develop and thrive.
  9. Provide regular and ongoing evaluation and development of nursing staff, ensuring that the staff has the necessary skills and competencies to perform their duties.
  10. Coach, counsel, and consult with employees in order to deliver the best possible care to Take Care’s clients.
  11. Maintain a close working relationship with Take Care Advisor and New Services to promote cooperation and collaboration of teamwork and provide guidance as required.
  12. Responsible for accuracy and completeness of all client data/records entered into the software system by nursing staff and continuous process improvement of those efforts.
  13. Work within the HIPAA law and handle all confidential data with sensitivity.
  14. Other duties as assigned.
