What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Pet Boarding Specialist position at Take Five Dogcare?
Passionate About Animals? Ready to Work Hard?
This job isn’t for the faint of heart. If you think working at a pet care facility means cuddling animals all day, think again! While we absolutely love what we do, this role requires dedication, stamina, and a deep understanding of animal care. There are easy days, and there are tough ones—the ones where you’re on your feet for hours, working through rain, snow, or heat, handling unpredictable behaviors, cleaning (a lot), and making sure every pet in our care is safe, happy, and healthy.
Every pet is an individual, with unique needs—medical, dietary, behavioral, and physical. Some need extra patience, some have special diets, others may require medication or gentle handling due to past experiences. Our job is to recognize these differences and provide the best care possible for each one. We’re looking for someone who is:
Weatherproof – Rain or shine, the job doesn’t stop.
Observant & Attentive – Noticing subtle changes in animal behavior is crucial.
A Strong Communicator – With both people and pets!

Confident & Skilled in Handling Animals – You’ll be working with dogs (& cats!) of all sizes, temperaments, and energy levels.

A Team Player with a Positive Attitude – We work together to keep things running smoothly, and a great attitude makes all the difference!
