Bake Cafe in Rancho Cucamonga is looking for one baker to join our team. We are located on 8685 Baseline Rd. Suite B.
We are seeking a skilled Baker to join our team and create a delightful array of baked goods, including breakfast pastries, cakes, cookies, and desserts. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for baking, efficiency, friendliness, and a strong focus on food quality and customer satisfaction. Key skills include organization, decisiveness, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of baking techniques.
Responsibilities:
● Prepare and bake a variety of goods, including donuts, rolls, pastries, cakes, and cookies.
● Decorate baked goods with glaze, icing, and toppings for presentation.
● Measure and combine ingredients using mixers, blenders, and other equipment.
● Follow recipes to ensure consistency in quality and taste.
● Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate baking schedules for events or service.
● Maintain attention to detail during quality inspections of ingredients and products.
● Maintain adequate supply of prepared products and ensure proper storage.
● Minimize spoilage/waste by ordering and utilizing proper quantities.
● Greet customers, answer questions, and provide exceptional service.
● Ensure accurate and timely fulfillment of client orders.
● Follow merchandising guidelines for displays, signage, and packaging.
● Keep accurate records of deliveries, inventory, and production levels.
● Clean, break down, and store all baking equipment, including ovens and mixers.
● Clean and restock workstations, ensuring equipment is ready for the next shift.
Qualifications:
● Must be at least 18 years of age.
● High school education or equivalent
● Previous experience in baking or pastry is preferred, typically ranging from 1 to 3 years.
● Excellent communication and customer service skills
● Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
● A Food Handler's Certificate/Card must be obtained within a specified time frame.
Requirements & Skills:
● Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and stand for long periods.
● Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
● Proficient in reading and accurately following recipes.
● Good planning and organizational skills.
● Basic math and computer skills.
● Creativity and artistic skills for decorating baked goods.
● Understanding of food safety practices and regulations.
● Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in safely and effectively operating standard foodservice equipment.
● Self-motivated with a high energy level.
● Ability to multi-task and manage various responsibilities simultaneously.
Experience:
● A minimum of two (2) years of baking experience is preferred.
● Experience with cake decoration techniques is beneficial.
● Some positions may require experience in high-volume production environments.
