Are you looking for a patient-focused, innovation-driven company that will inspire you and empower you to shine? Join Takeda as the Senior Manager, Public Policy and Reimbursement located in Washington, D.C. This role will focus on providing support for policy analysis assessing the implications of federal and state legislation related to U.S. government programs.
The Senior Manager will collaborate with teams across US Public Affairs to identify legislative opportunities and threats, ensuring alignment with Takeda’s business objectives. Staying current on critical policy issues—such as Medicare, Medicaid, and the Inflation Reduction Act—is essential for educating internal stakeholders and facilitating informed decision-making across the organization.
How you will contribute :
Conduct primary research on the external policy landscape, ensuring Takeda's understanding through collaboration with trade associations, think tanks, and academic institutions.
Provide comprehensive analysis and summaries of key federal regulations and policy issues, contributing insights to ongoing policy discussions. Identify emerging trends and issues in the pharmaceutical sector, recommending strategies and interventions aligned with Takeda's business goals.
Participate in trade association workgroups to represent Takeda's interests and inform Public Affairs strategies. Work with line manager to identify issues where Takeda should closely engage with PhRMA or other relevant trade associations.
Drafts collateral for senior leadership under the direction of line manager to facilitate senior leader's effective engagements with policymakers and trade associations.
Build and enhance relationships with key stakeholders, including trade associations, consultants, and others (e.g. Hill staff) to support Takeda's policy and federal advocacy initiatives. Responsible for managing some engagement initiatives through a digital advocacy strategy.
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree required
5 years of professional experience within the healthcare industry required
Experience working directly in a policy-related healthcare field preferred
Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize diverse sources of evidence.
Proven track record in developing practical and implementable policy solutions.
Strong writing skills; a writing sample will be required
Ability to collaborate effectively across cultures and functions.
Demonstrated leadership skills, both with and without formal authority.
Travel : willing to travel in the US up to 15%; minimal overseas travel if applicable

U.S. Base Salary Range :
133,000.00 - $209,000.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and / or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and / or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
