Position overview:
Takeuchi is a pioneer in the compact construction manufacturing industry, developing the world’s first compact excavator in 1971. Takeuchi continues to provide products that meet the needs of today’s contractors, and our dedication is evident by the care we take to prepare machines for shipment in our Pendergrass, Georgia, distribution center. We are looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented person to join our outstanding machine preparation team. You will oversee the timely, accurate installation of attachments on excavators, wheel loaders, and track loaders to ship to our North American dealer network.
Key Responsibilities:
Planning and execution:
- Collaborate with the Machine Operations Supervisor to create and implement the daily machine prep plan.
- Confirm dealer order accuracy and send concerns to the Inside Sales department to resolve.
- Transfer machines in and out of the prep area to ensure smooth and consistent workflow.
Leadership and Training:
- Provide guidance, support, and direction to ensure efficient workflow.
- Train employees in company policies and procedures for correctly installing attachments.
- Conduct ongoing training to improve team members’ technical skills and efficiency.
- Suggest and implement best practices to improve productivity and accuracy while reducing machine prep time.
Quality Control and Safety:
- Enforce all company safety procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for the team.
- Inspect machines for any cosmetic or mechanical issues before releasing them to the shipping team.
- Review the prep team’s installs for accuracy and quality before releasing machines to the shipping team.
Physical Demands:
- Moderate to heavy physical effort required including sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, climbing steps or ladders, grasping, fine and course manipulation, reaching both forward and above head level.
- Must be able to push, pull and/or lift up to 50 pounds.
- Safely operate machinery with no accommodations.
- Must be able to stand and work for long periods.
- Must be able to work at varying temperatures.
- Must have some mechanical experience.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Two years distribution center experience preferred.
- Prior forklift experience preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office and Adobe preferred.
