Job Title: Youth Mentor Volunteer
Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Volunteer Youth Mentor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young individuals, particularly those facing challenges in areas such as special education, behavioral health, and child welfare. As a Youth Mentor, you will play a crucial role in providing guidance, support, and mentorship to help empower and positively impact the lives of children and teenagers.
We desire mentors from all walks of life! Mentors anointed to serve in this capacity.
Responsibilities:
- Mentoring and providing guidance to youth in various aspects of their lives
- Utilizing special education techniques to support individuals with diverse needs
- Collaborating with professionals in behavioral health to address emotional and psychological challenges
- Educating and empowering youth through structured activities and programs
- Drawing from experience working with children to create impactful relationships
- Providing childcare support when needed
- Implementing conflict management strategies to resolve disputes effectively
Experience:
- Proven experience in mentoring or working with youth in challenging environments
- Familiarity with special education practices and techniques
- Background in behavioral health or related field is advantageous, but not required
- Ability to educate and inspire children and teenagers effectively
- Strong understanding of social work principles and child welfare services
- Previous experience in childcare or related roles is beneficial
- Proficiency in conflict management and resolution techniques
Must be willing to dedicate at least two hours per week per mentee. This is a volunteer position.
