We are seeking a skilled and responsible Water Truck Driver to join our team. The Water Truck Driver will be responsible for operating water trucks to transport and deliver water for various purposes, including dust control, road maintenance, and construction site operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong safety record, excellent driving skills, and the ability to work independently in various field conditions.
Key Responsibilities
Operation and Maintenance:
- Operate water trucks safely and efficiently to transport water to designated locations.
- Ensure proper loading, unloading, and distribution of water according to project requirements.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the truck is in good working condition, including checking fluid levels, brakes, tires, and safety equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on the truck as needed to ensure optimal performance
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols while operating the water truck and working on-site.
- Follow company policies and industry standards related to the handling and transportation of water.
- Maintain a clean and organized truck and work environment to ensure safety and efficiency.
Communication and Coordination:
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, project managers, and other team members to coordinate water delivery schedules and address any issues.
- Report any mechanical problems, safety concerns, or delays to the appropriate personnel promptly.
- Keep accurate records of water deliveries, including quantities, locations, and any incidents or issues encountered.
Field Operations:
- Navigate and drive in various field conditions, including construction sites, rough terrain, and adverse weather conditions.
- Monitor water usage and adjust delivery rates and patterns to meet project needs effectively.
- Assist with other field tasks as required, such as traffic control, site preparation, or equipment setup.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience operating water trucks or similar heavy equipment.
- Strong understanding of vehicle safety and maintenance practices.
- Excellent driving skills with the ability to operate in various field conditions.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in construction, road maintenance, or similar industries.
- Familiarity with the operation of additional construction or maintenance equipment.
- Knowledge of local regulations and best practices related to water transport and usage.
