What are the responsibilities and job description for the Android Engineer position at Tal-Ex?
Talex s seeking a talented and passionate engineer to lead our work on mobile and device apps, OTT solutions, and the Brightspot mobile framework.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement key parts of the Brightspot Android platform and applications.
- Work with external partners to define and productize the latest solutions on Android.
- Develop technical solutions that scale across a wide range of Android devices (certified and AOSP).
- Contribute to shared framework layer to be used with Android, Kindle, and other device platforms
Qualifications:
- Proficient in Java & C/C with strong object-oriented design skills.
- Experience with Android SDK, NDK and JNI.
- Knowledge of Android software design patterns.
- Great understanding of the Android framework internals and AOSP code.
- Portfolio of published apps
- Able to work independently and drive results
- BS degree in computer science or equivalent, and at least 6 years of experience working on Android-based products.
Bonus if you have experience with any of the following:
- Shipping and maintaining a high-volume Android application
- High-level streaming protocols (DASH, HLS)
- EGL and OpenGL ES
- Low-level networking (modem stack, cellular protocols)
- Javascript
- Android UI
- AB testing
