Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care to patients admitted for psychiatric treatment
- Deliver clinical consultation and treatment for patients with complex medical diagnoses
- Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning and daily rounds
- Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, therapists, case managers, and primary care teams
- Support discharge planning to ensure safe, coordinated transitions of care
- Serve as a liaison with outside facilities, including visiting RUMC when SBPC patients are in their care
- Provide provider coverage, including nights as needed, addressing emergent patient needs and participating in unit-based medical liaison meetings
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative documentation reviews
- Participate in performance improvement projects, utilization review (UR) activities, and other administrative initiatives
- Ensure building coverage according to schedule
- Participate in Morbidity & Mortality Committee and other Medical Staff Organization (MSO) meetings as assigned
- Contribute to education, research, and quality improvement initiatives
- Engage in continuous collaboration with the broader hospitalist network to align with best practices and ensure continuity of care
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine (Family Medicine may be considered with relevant experience)
- Active or eligible for New York State medical licensure
- Demonstrated experience or strong interest in working with patients in behavioral health settings
- Strong organizational skills and a commitment to integrated, patient-centered care
Salary : $200,000 - $245,000
