Contract / Temporary Role: 4 Months (March - July)
Shift Hours: Monday to Friday - 7am-5pm
The Shipping Receiving Coordinator is responsible for managing various transactions and overseeing the coordination of all shipping, receiving, and inventory control operations. This includes preparing necessary documents for shipments, ensuring products are delivered to customers and suppliers, and utilizing the ERP system to maintain accurate records of raw materials and finished goods inventory.
Duties Responsibilities
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Utilize manufacturing software to review shipping requirements, orders, and records to determine shipping priorities and methods.
- Complete transactions and tasks associated with incoming and outgoing shipping to ensure accuracy and condition of shipments.
- Interact with external suppliers and customers to ensure timely delivery.
- Assist Shipping/Receiving and Inventory Control Supervisor with inventory discrepancies, problem-solving, and process improvement.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant laws and organizational policies.
- Receive material and production parts, perform necessary inventory adjustments, and verify stock counts.
- Coordinate shipping and receiving activities, including scheduling pickups and deliveries.
- Follow documented ISO standard for all processes.
- Organize and maintain the shipping and receiving area for cleanliness and safety.
- Prepare shipping documentation, labels, and packing slips.
- Inspect outgoing shipments for accuracy and compliance.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks and moving materials.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in shipping and receiving.
- Print and prepare packing lists, bills of lading, and truck schedules.
- Operate under a continuous improvement approach, implementing new processes and procedures for productivity optimization.
- Assist lift truck operators with material handling tasks.
- Communicate with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments to resolve issues.
- Receive incoming materials, verify quantities and quality, and process receipts.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands Work Environment
- The employee must be able to lift and carry heavy objects weighing up to forty (40) pounds and work comfortably in a noisy and potentially hazardous industrial environment. Additionally, they should be capable of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching for extended periods. During job duties, the employee may also need to sit, stoop, kneel, climb, or balance occasionally. They must frequently lift and/or move objects weighing up to forty (40) pounds and may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and a risk of electrical shock. There is occasional exposure to high, precarious places, and specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The work environment often features loud noise levels due to moving mechanical parts.
- Proven experience in shipping and receiving operations, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and inventory management systems.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks (certification preferred).
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of standard shipping, receiving, and inventory control practices and terminology.
- Experience with all shipping functions, including domestic and international shipments, and online freight portals.
- Familiarity with Advance Shipment Notices and packaging materials for product transportation.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in shop math and interpreting technical instructions.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
