Position Summary:
The Audiologist will provide comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic audiology services to Veterans, ensuring high-quality care through direct evaluations, hearing aid services, auditory rehabilitation, and tele-audiology. The role includes managing community care consults and documentation through VA systems.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct full range of audiometric diagnostic evaluations (PTA, speech audiometry, tympanometry, OAE, ABR).
- Fit, program, and adjust hearing aids based on real-ear measurements and individual hearing loss profiles.
- Administer auditory rehabilitation including counseling, assistive listening devices, and communication strategies.
- Manage and document community care consults and ROES (Remote Order Entry System) hearing aid orders.
- Perform tele-audiology services as needed via phone, video, and secure messaging.
- Maintain records in CPRS and comply with VA, HIPAA, and federal documentation standards.
- Educate Veterans and caregivers on hearing health, device use, and follow-up care.
- Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) from an accredited institution.
- Current, unrestricted state audiology license.
- ASHA Certification (CCC-A) or equivalent.
- Must meet VA credentialing and privileging standards per VHA Directives 1100.20 and 1100.21.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Must pass federal background and OIG exclusion checks.
