Talascend has multiple openings for Automotive Design Engineers, both Exterior and Interior, for a project in Southfield, MI. Positions are long term contract.
Responsibilities :
- Develop and design exterior and interior components for premium vehicles, ensuring high-quality and innovative solutions.
- Support the full design process from initial concept sketches to final component release.
- Address design changes resulting from build issues to ensure continuous improvement.
- Ensure all geometric and technical requirements are analyzed and met for each project milestone.
- Collaborate with teams across design studios, packaging, engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to optimize design solutions.
- Assist in creating and maintaining bills of materials while identifying cost-saving opportunities and manufacturing improvements.
- Utilize CATIA V6 to create CAD surfaces, solids, GD&T, and fastening designs, following industry best practices.
- Apply CAD methodologies, study files, slab models, and knowledge-based engineering principles.
- Support purchasing teams in supplier selection and decision-making to ensure high-quality components.
- Travel may be required to company headquarters, suppliers, and contractors.
