Talascend is currently seeking Marine Assemblers for DIRECT HIRE opportunities in New Hudson, Michigan
1st Shift - 6am - 4pm (Monday to Thursday)
SUMMARY :
Team assemblers are the assembly line workers who marinize and produce our engines. Each assembler is trained in lean manufacturing principles on all assembly jobs within the facility, rotating through different tasks, rather than specializing in a single task. Each assembler will be a line assembler as the product moves along a track assembly line.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Inspecting fully assembled and / or partially assembled engines, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects
Install engines onto, and monitor engine functions on, hot test stands
REQUIREMENTS :
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
Assemble engine parts with bolts, clips, screws, solder, cement, or other fasteners by hand or by using portable power tools
Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.
Must be able to follow instructions carefully, including quality procedures, which require some basic reading and the ability to follow diagrams
Must be adept at using machines, air tools, hoists and special processes
Perform the same task repeatedly
Must be able to conduct assembly in the pre-paint and post-paint sections of the assembly line, as well as staging for pre-assembly, painting, post-paint and shipping and pictures
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT :
The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand.
The employee is frequently required to use their hands and fingers to handle, feel objects, use tools or controls and climb or balance.
The employee is occasionally required to walk, reach with hands and arms, kneel, crouch, crawl and talk or hear.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electric shock, and explosives.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. However, some instances of this job may require work in areas where ear protection is necessary.
