Talascend is currently seeking a Metrology Technician for a contract opportunity in Tucson, AZ.
SUMMARY :
The Metrology Technician II is responsible for calibrating and certifying Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) in accordance with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) traceability. This includes utilizing certified laboratory standards, manufacturer specifications, and commercial or military calibration procedures. The technician will calibrate, troubleshoot, and isolate faults, perform adjustments, and make repairs using TMDE and certified laboratory standards. The role also involves calibrating linear dimensional hand tools and other related equipment.
REQUIRED SKILLS :
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must have a positive attitude and eagerness to learn new tasks (apprentice-level position).
- Detail-oriented with the ability to handle precision work.
- Strong math skills are essential for the calibration process.
