Talascend is currently seeking a Senior Site Safety & Health Specialist for a long-term contract role located in Little Mountain, SC.
OVERVIEW :
The Senior Site Safety & Health Specialist is responsible for leading and implementing project specific safety policies and procedures and provide professional Safety & Health leadership to the project management team in a heavy construction environment.- Administer the Safety & Health programs on field construction projects to verify operations are executed as planned and conducted in a safe manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Oversee Site Safety & Health program deliverables as defined by Corporate Safety & Health, addressing site-specific safety concerns promptly.
- Ensure compliance with Local, State, and Federal OSHA regulations.
- Manage Safety & Health programs to meet the goal of zero safety incidents.
- Conduct regular safety reviews, assessments, and documentation to ensure compliance with Corporate and regulatory standards.
- Address and resolve work stoppages due to immediate life and health dangers.
- Report work stoppage issues to project management and collaborate on preventive measures.
- Advise site personnel on Safety & Health, assess issues before work begins, and implement corrective actions.
- Manage the on-site Safety & Health program with the client’s Safety & Health Department to ensure collaboration and compliance.
- Conduct Safety & Health walk-through assessments.
- Review assessment findings, document needed corrections, and ensure timely resolutions.
- Compile safety memos and assist Site Management in promoting safety awareness and goals.
- Lead, conduct, and document Safety & Health training as needed.
- Review near-miss, property damage, environmental, and accident reports and recommend countermeasures.
- Recommend solutions to Corporate Safety & Health on program challenges and progress, ensuring clear communication.
- Complete Daily Field Safety Reports, maintain audit-ready safety records, and submit documentation to Corporate Safety & Health.
- Travel to various project sites as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS :
Day Shift - 7am-5 : 30pm
Night Shift - 6pm- 4 : 00am
