JOB SUMMARY:
The Customer Service Attendant is responsible for assisting customers, vendors, and employees by coordinating traffic, locating orders, loading orders, and answering general questions.
Requirements
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Provide excellent service to customers, vendors, and delivery personnel and resolve issues in a positive and proficient manner
- Maintain and develop strong working relationships with customers, vendors, employees, and delivery personnel
- Answer general questions from the sales team and customers pertaining to their orders
- Assist customers with locating orders for pick up, loading call in orders, and checking in returns
- Check loads for accuracy when leaving the yard to protect against theft of company property
- Communicate via phone and radio with management, sales staff, yard staff, drivers, and customers to ensure accurate and timely processing all of operations
- Notify appropriate team members when back-orders, delays, damaged products, shipping errors, or picking errors occur to ensure the appropriate reorder and handling to maintain customer satisfaction.
- Monitor entrance and exits to ensure only authorized personnel access company property
- Advise management of any conditions that may create safety hazards or security concerns.
- Ensure that all safety policies and procedures and local and federal safety requirements and regulations are being followed and report any issues to the Operations Manager immediately.
- Complete special projects at the direction of the Operations Manager
- Perform other duties as requested
SKILLS AND OTHER KEY ABILITIES:
- General computer skills are necessary with a background in Microsoft programs

OTHER KEY FACTORS:
- Must have a valid Driver's License issued by the state of residence.
- Must be certified to drive a forklift.
- Demonstrate a strong product knowledge of materials in the building supply industry.
- Maintain a professional dress code with a Talbert logo on the shirt. The shirt must be tucked in.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Lifting heavy items weighing 20 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Working in all types of weather conditions
