This position is based at our Toledo office in a supportive, residential Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment setting. We are hiring one full time position and 1 PRN position.
Position Summary
We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) who will work under the supervision of the Nurse Manager to monitor and promote the physical health of individuals receiving treatment. The RN will play a key role in delivering nursing services aligned with our mission and will work to ensure the highest standards of care are provided to those we serve. This is an hourly position, and the work schedule will be established to ensure all duties are completed effectively. As this role is non-exempt, it is subject to wage and hour regulations under the U.S. Department of Labor's Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain comprehensive, up-to-date medical records for all clients.
- Provide medical and case management services, ensuring treatment plans are updated as clinically indicated.
- Conduct thorough health history assessments and make appropriate referrals when necessary.
- Assist providers with data accuracy and dashboard management.
- Participate in on-call responsibilities when needed.
- Support medical compliance and assist with staff training.
- Help with hiring, evaluating, disciplining, and terminating staff in consultation with the Director of Nursing and Human Resources.
- Develop and monitor performance improvement plans for medical staff.
- Supervise nursing staff within assigned locations.
Additional Duties
- Complete other duties in a manner that reflects the agency’s values and mission.
- Organize and prioritize tasks for maximum efficiency and impact.
- Use IT systems and software in accordance with agency policies.
- Ensure time off is used in alignment with agency guidelines.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Active Ohio RN license required.
- Minimum of five years of nursing experience in a related field.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- CPR/First Aid/AED certified.
- Crisis Prevention/De-escalation trained.
Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in utilizing the agency’s electronic tools effectively within 30 days of hire.
- Current knowledge of mental health and substance use practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent judgment and the ability to make sound professional decisions.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
- Ability to perform job duties in facilities or community-based settings with multiple levels (without elevators or mechanical support).
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to operate a computer and keyboard effectively.
