Propósito Principal del Trabajo

El profesor de desarrollo infantil brinda servicios integrales de educación, salud, nutrición y la participación de los padres de niños calificados de 0 a 3 años y sus familias. Los profesores ofrecen actividades de cuidado primario a los niños, así como actividades diseñadas para promover su crecimiento social, creativo, físico y cognitivo. El profesor de desarrollo infantil apoya la misión de Educación Temprana del Condado de Talbot para el desarrollo de los niños, empodera los padres y fortalece a las familias brindando servicios integrales de desarrollo familiar y de la primera infancia durante todo el año a familias calificadas. El profesor de desarrollo infantil apoya también nuestra misión brindando cuidado y apoyo físico, emocional y de aprendizaje a niños con necesidades especiales.

REQUISITOS MÍNIMOS

Educación: Graduado de una escuela secundaria acreditada o debe tener un certificado equivalente al diploma de la escuela secundaria.

Experiencia: Un año de experiencia en información sobre atención de salud y prevención de enfermedades dentro de la comunidad.

Notas: 1. Los candidatos pueden sustituir su experiencia si dieron asistencia a personas en un entorno de atención médica o de servicios sociales, año por año para la educación requerida. 2. Los candidatos pueden sustituir los requisitos con experiencia en el servicio militar de las Fuerzas Armadas de los EE. UU. como suboficial en clasificación de Servicios de Salud o Servicios de Salud y Códigos de Especialidad en el campo de trabajo relacionado con la salud. Año por año para demostrar la experiencia requerida.

CALIFICACIONES REQUERIDAS O DE PREFERENCIA El candidato calificado debe poseer lo siguiente: -Certificado de Educación Infantil de noventa (90) horas -Certificado para bebés y niños pequeños de cuarenta y cinco (45) horas -Certificación en Reanimación Cardiopulmonar (RCP) y Primeros Auxilios.

LICENCIAS, REGISTRACIONES Y CERTIFICACIONES A los empleados en esta clasificación se les pueden asignar deberes que requieren la operación de un vehículo motorizado. Head Start is the most successful, longest-running, national school readiness program in the United States. Preschool aged children have benefited from Head Start through the development of their early reading and math skills they need to be successful in school. This full-time contractual position will serve as a Child Development Teacher and provide comprehensive education, health, nutrition, and parent involvement services to qualified children ages 0 to 3 years and their families.

CDTs provide primary caregiving activities to the children as well as activities designed to promote their social, creative, physical and cognitive growth. The Child Development Teacher supports the mission of Talbot County Early Head Start to nurture children, empower parents, and strengthen families by providing comprehensive, year-round early childhood and family development services to qualified families. The Child Development Teacher also supports the mission by providing caregiving and physical, emotional and learning support to children with special needs.

*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS*

*Education*: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

*Experience*: One year of experience in providing information on health care and disease prevention within the community.

*Notes*: 1. Candidates may substitute experience providing assistance to individuals in a health care or social services setting on a year-for-year basis for the required education. 2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Health Services classifications or Health Services and specialty codes in the health related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

*DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS* The desired candidate should possess a 90 hour Child Care Certificate, Infant Toddler Child Development Associate Credential or Associate Degree in Early Childhood Development or related field. Experience working in a supervised early childhood program with children ages 0 to 3 years is also preferred. Candidates will be required to participate in the MSDE credentialing program and maintain throughout employment.

*LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS* Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.

*BENEFITS* Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits. Leave may be granted to a contractual employee who has worked 120 days in a 12 month period. This leave accrues at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.
