What are the responsibilities and job description for the Actuary or Senior Actuarial Consultant position at Talcott Financial Group?
This position will support all the projections for Life team including Universal Life Secondary Guarantee (ULSG), corporate owned life insurance (COLI), and bank owned life insurance (BOLI). The primarily tool will be GGY-AXIS.
The candidate will get exposure to various life insurance products, expand their reinsurance knowledge, and interact with various teams within the Life 10-person team.
Key Responsibilities:
Running, understanding, and enhancing the AXIS model for ULSG, COLI, and BOLI (other than updates to the production model)
Providing Stat, GAAP, Tax, and Bermuda Economic Balance Sheet (EBS) projections and cash flow testing support for both US and offshore (Cayman Islands and Bermuda) customers
Providing the Life team information and analyses to help better understand ULSG and COLI business
Valuation/Outlook responsibilities when needed
Qualifications:
Note* This position can be filled as an Actuary or Senior Actuary commensurate with a candidate’s experience. Qualified Senior Actuary candidates shall possess the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, or related field
5 years of actuarial experience, preferably in life insurance
ASA or close to ASA
GGY AXIS modeling software experience is strongly preferred
A desire to establish oneself as a subject matter expert
Ability to learn quickly and work independently
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks/projects and meet deadlines
Strong technical and analytical skills
Ability to effectively communicate complex topics to a variety of audiences
Actuary Consultants shall possess the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, or related field
At least 2 years of actuarial experience, preferably in life insurance
At least 4 Actuarial exams passed recently
GGY AXIS modeling software experience is preferred
A desire to establish oneself as a subject matter expert
Ability to learn quickly and work independently
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks/projects and meet deadlines
Strong technical and analytical skills
Ability to effectively communicate complex topics to a variety of audiences
