Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects based on project specifications and drawings.
- Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure estimates align with project budgets and timelines.
- Utilize software to create accurate bids and manage cost control processes.
- Conduct site visits to gather information for accurate estimating.
- Review subcontractor bids for accuracy and completeness before submission.
- Maintain relationships with vendors to ensure competitive pricing on materials.
- Provide support during the bidding process by answering questions from contractors.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an estimator in the construction industry or related field.
- Strong understanding of construction management principles and cost control techniques.
- Proficiency in estimating software or similar tools.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for precise calculations.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings effectively.
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with team members and clients.
- Experience in project management is a plus but not required.
