Job Title : Registered Respiratory Therapist
Facility : Petaluma Valley Hospital
Location : 400 N McDowell Blvd, Petaluma, CA 94954
Contract : 13 weeks
Shift : 18 : 30 - 06 : 30 (Night 3x12-Hour)
Pay Rate : $60 / hr on W2 or $64 / hr on 1099 (Local Rate will be discussed)
Position Summary :
We are seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our dynamic team at Providence Health and Services. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a community hospital and with neonates, infants, ICU, and trauma patients. The therapist will be expected to perform respiratory assessments, treatment, and critical care, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities :
Perform respiratory diagnostic and therapeutic interventions according to RCP protocols.
Evaluate, assess, and treat patients in a regional trauma center setting.
Utilize ventilators such as PB840, Avea, and V60 Bipap, as well as other respiratory equipment including Metaneb, Cough Assist, and Ambu Bronch Scopes.
Work collaboratively with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare providers.
Demonstrate good critical thinking skills in the management of complex patient cases.
Be responsible for all respiratory care duties including patient assessments and mechanical ventilation management.
Provide care for a diverse range of patients, including neonates, infants, and ICU patients.
Assist in patient transports as needed.
Required Qualifications :
Licensure : Valid California License as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
Certifications :
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
BLS (Basic Life Support)
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
Experience :
Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy is Required ( New Grad Acceptable )
Experience in a community hospital setting is Required
Experience with ventilators such as Puritan Bennett and Avea is preferred .
Preferred Experience :
Neonates, infants, ICU, Trauma I experience.
Additional Requirements :
Must be willing to float to nearby sister facilities if required.
Willingness to work two out of three major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year).
On-call availability with a $15.00 stipend.
Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a lower base bill rate.
Must include RTO (Request Time Off) at the time of submission.
Compensation & Benefits :
Overtime : 1.3x after 8 regular hours in a day or 40 regular hours in a week.
Charge Nurse : $2.50 / hour.
Holiday Pay : 1.3x for observed holidays.
On-Call : $15.00 per on-call hour.
Housing : Traveler to arrange housing options, as available accommodations may be limited.
Parking : Free parking at the facility.
