Pay Rate : $41 / hr on W2 or $44 / hr on 1099 (Local Rate will be discussed)
Job Overview :
As an OR Tech / Surgical Tech at Providence Saint Mary Medical Center you will provide highquality support during a wide range of surgical procedures. You will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and organization of the operating room ensuring all instruments and equipment are sterile and available and providing direct assistance to the surgical team during operations.
Shift Notes :
- Start times are between 6 : 30 AM and 9 : 30 AM and end times are between 7 : 00 PM and 11 : 00 PM depending on operational need.
- Weekend and Holiday Coverage
07 : 00 AM 07 : 00 PM (on weekends)
Key Responsibilities :
Surgical Assistance : Provide direct support during surgeries by ensuring all instruments supplies and equipment are available sterile and functioning. Assist the surgical team with setting up and maintaining a sterile field.
Scrub Assistance : Scrub in for surgeries assisting surgeons and surgical staff with instrument handling draping suctioning and maintaining a sterile environment throughout the procedure.
Surgical Case Preparation : Prepare operating rooms for a variety of cases including General Orthopedic Urology Gyn and laparoscopic procedures as well as other specialties like Ophthalmology and Plastics. Ensure all instruments supplies and medications are readily available.
OnCall Duties : Be available for oncall shifts as needed with a rotating schedule that may require additional evening or weekend availability.
Equipment and Instrumentation : Maintain and monitor surgical instruments equipment and supplies ensuring proper sterilization and function. Assist with the decontamination process postsurgery.
Collaboration with Surgical Team : Work closely with surgeons nurses and anesthesiologists to ensure smooth and efficient operation during surgeries.
Patient Care Support : Assist in patient positioning draping and preparation for surgery. Monitor patient safety and comfort during surgical procedures.
Record Keeping : Document surgical procedures equipment usage and any complications or issues that arise during the surgery.
Floating Requirement : Be willing to float between Providence facilities and assist in different surgery centers as needed.
Job Requirements :
Experience : Minimum of 2 years experience as an OR Tech / Surgical Tech with a strong understanding of a variety of surgical specialties. Firsttimers are also welcome.
Certifications : Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
Skills : Proficient in scrubbing for general orthopedic gynecological and laparoscopic surgeries. Experience with roboticassisted procedures (Da Vinci Xi) is preferred.
Licensure : Valid California State License required. No temporary licenses accepted.
Additional : Ability to work with minimal supervision and handle the physical demands of assisting in surgeries.
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience in Ophthalmology Plastics Podiatry ENT or roboticassisted gynecological surgeries is preferred.
SPD (Sterile Processing Department) experience is a plus.
