Linux Systems Engineer

Our client is an industry leading technology firm in the financial services sector, their state of the art trading platforms are used by both brokers and dealers to facilitate the trading of securities both in the United States and abroad. They are looking to hire a Linux Systems Engineer to aid with their OS upgrade from RHEL 7 to RHEL 8. Additional responsibilities include automation work with Ansible and backup and storage work using NetBackup and Veritas. This is a hybrid position open only to candidates currently located in the New York City metro area and at this time the client is unable to provide sponsorship or visa transfers.

Location: New York City (Hybrid)

Required Skills And Responsibilities

• 4 years of experience with on prem Red Hat Enterprise Linux Servers
• Capable of supporting production systems
• Experience with Ansible for both automation and configuration management
• Ability to work on net backup and storage using Veritas
• Comfortable participating in a 24x7 on-call rotation (remote work available during on-call shift - one week / month
• Must work in client's downtown NYC office on a hybrid basis up to 3 days / week
• Bachelor's Degree, ideally in STEM
  
  

Nice To Have Skills

• Comfortable working on the AWS Cloud platform with a familiarity of cloud security
• Virtualization experience with VMWare
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• ServiceNow ticketing experience
• Previous financial service experience
  
  

Compensation

• Salary is based on experience with a target of $130,000-$140,000
• Year end bonus up to 25%
