Our client is a leading provider of midstream energy services across North America, specializing in the transportation, processing, and storage of natural gas, crude oil, refined products, and petrochemicals. They are looking to hire a Senior Software Developer to join their team in Houston, TX. This role focuses on developing application functionality for various liquid transportation business lines, including nominations, scheduling, measurement, distribution, accounting, and material balance reconciliation.

Required Skills And Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement software solutions to support critical business functions.
- Deliver technical designs and estimates while planning individual development tasks.
- Write clean, efficient code with a strong emphasis on unit and integration testing.
- Collaborate with QA teams to support test plans and ensure high-quality software delivery.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support for existing applications.
- Work closely with architects, business analysts, and product managers to define system requirements and functional enhancements.
- Optimize performance and scalability of distributed systems using event-based or API-driven architectures.
- Familiarity with messaging and streaming platforms like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Experience with Elasticsearch for search and analytics solutions.
- Knowledge of Agile development practices, including Scrum and Kanban methodologies.
- Experience using Azure DevOps or similar backlog management systems.
- Strong understanding of software architecture and system design principles.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in application development and software engineering.
- Hands-on experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and API development.
- Proficient in technologies such as .NET, JavaScript, Git, Redis, SQL Server, and modern frontend frameworks like Angular or React.
- Strong problem-solving skills with experience in performance analysis and optimization.
- Background in database design, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
