Key Responsibilities:
- Control System Management:
- Oversee, maintain, and continuously enhance automated control systems, including PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems, for food processing equipment.
- Implement upgrades and modifications to existing systems to improve performance, accuracy, and reliability.
- Process Optimization & Analysis:
- Analyze production data and process workflows to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements, waste reduction, and quality enhancements.
- Develop, test, and implement new control strategies using statistical process control (SPC) techniques and lean manufacturing principles.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to design process improvements and optimize system performance.
- Troubleshooting & Maintenance:
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues with control system hardware and software to minimize production downtime.
- Establish preventive maintenance protocols, perform regular system calibrations, and manage system validations.
- Coordinate with equipment vendors and technical support teams to resolve complex issues.
- Compliance, Safety & Documentation:
- Ensure that all control systems comply with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards, including HACCP, FDA, and ISO requirements.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system schematics, operating manuals, and maintenance procedures.
- Participate in safety audits and risk assessments, contributing to a culture of continuous safety improvement.
- Collaboration & Training:
- Work closely with operations, maintenance, and quality assurance teams to support troubleshooting and process enhancement initiatives.
- Provide technical training and support to staff on updated control systems and safety protocols.
- Act as a key resource during the design, commissioning, and integration of new production technologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in process control engineering within a manufacturing or food processing environment.
- Proficiency in PLC programming and hands-on experience with SCADA and HMI systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and regulatory requirements (HACCP, FDA, ISO) is highly desirable.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma) is a plus.
Working Conditions:
- Occasional shift work or on-call availability during critical production periods may be required.
- Ability to work in a dynamic production environment with exposure to varying noise levels and temperatures.
