Director of Construction

A leading design-build firm specializing in large-scale industrial and food processing facilities is seeking a Director of Construction to lead project execution across multiple active construction sites. This senior leadership role will report directly to the President and work closely with internal teams including Architecture, Preconstruction, Finance, and Site Management to ensure the highest standards in quality, safety, schedule, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide strategic leadership and oversight for multiple complex construction projects across the U.S., ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency, and adherence to company quality standards.

Lead and mentor a team of project managers and superintendents, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Oversee construction execution plans, resource allocation, risk mitigation strategies, and vendor management.

Ensure seamless coordination between field operations and internal teams, including Architecture, Preconstruction, and Finance.

Serve as a primary executive point of contact for clients during the construction phase, representing the company with professionalism and confidence.

Leverage construction technology including Procore and other project management platforms to drive transparency, real-time communication, and operational efficiency.

Monitor project performance metrics and provide regular reporting to the President and leadership team.

Develop and refine training protocols for field and project management staff, especially in construction technologies and safety compliance.
Qualifications:

10 years of progressive leadership experience in commercial or industrial construction, with proven experience managing multi-million-dollar design-build projects.

Deep understanding of the design-build delivery model and its integration across disciplines.

Strong proficiency in Procore and other construction management software platforms.

Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.

Willingness to travel to project sites throughout the U.S. as needed.

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., PMP, LEED AP) a plus.
