Sr. Electrical Design Engineer

Job Description

Will be tasked with conceptual design, component specification, system hardware design and programming. Manage high level projects from concept to production. Will work closely with other engineers and technical staff. Responsibilities also include providing engineering support for field service technicians and providing technical training at client facilities as needed. Supports the existing products and work within the constraints of existing methods and standards. Up to 20% domestic travel may be required, international travel is a possibility.

Responsibilities

• Requires the ability to apply the principles of electrical and electronic theory and related experience to design, program and troubleshoot state of the art packaging machinery.
• Develop and test new designs as needed and develop high speed automation packaging machine projects.
• Manage projects from inception to completion.
• Ability to design complete electrical systems from concept to prototype and production.
• Knowledge to read and troubleshoot ladder logic within motion controls. including programming of servo drives (AB).
• Must have design problem solving skills and be able to work in a team environment.
• Travel to customer locations to assist in software or hardware repair or installations. Amount of travel approx. 20%
• Create wiring schematic, program diagrams, and complete bill of materials.

Requirements

Qualifications : Experience : Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Powerhouse Technician, specifically with steam boilers, air compressors, pumps, motors, and power-generating equipment. Skills : Proficiency in reading schematics and blueprints. Experience with troubleshooting powerhouse equipment, including both analog and digital systems. Location Requirement : Must live within a 50-mile radius of the Syracuse facility.

Salary : $80,000 - $125,000
