Assembly Supervisor

Fast Growing Aerospace / Aircraft manufacturing operation seeks a proven Production Supervisor to lead Assembly operations for the company. The company is going through a ramp up in production and staff to support increased demand. This role will be integral in that effort and will be responsible for hiring / training new assembly personal as well as leading a cross training program for existing staff members. This individual will also collaborate with other internal stakeholders to improve existing process, including work instructions, and other current bottlenecks to production. Smaller, nimble company culture making very cool products.

RESPONSIBLITIES;

• Supervise, train, and mentor a team of assembly technicians (currently 10, will likely grow to 15), fostering a culture of responsibility, discipline, and empowerment.
• Provide clear work assignments, monitor performance, and maintain a positive, compliant work environment.
• Conduct performance evaluations, make hiring decisions, and implement disciplinary actions when necessary.
• Ensure all assembly activities meet established quality standards, safety protocols, and deadlines.
• Coordinate daily tasks to align with production schedules and organizational goals.
• Oversee the accurate interpretation and application of work instructions, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in quality, throughput, and assembly processes.
• Identify and resolve production bottlenecks and quality concerns using root cause analysis techniques.
• Partner with internal teams on process improvement projects and promote adherence to lean manufacturing principles.
• Oversee the resolution of customer quality issues, collaborating with engineering and quality assurance teams.
• Lead pre-job briefs and post-job reviews to ensure alignment with customer expectations.
• Maintain a safe and organized workspace, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
• Manage inventory levels to ensure the availability of critical components for uninterrupted assembly operations.
• Develop and enforce production schedules, ensuring adherence to timelines and minimizing delays.
• Monitor and optimize workstation layouts and workflows to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
• Collaborate with the supply chain team to address material shortages and implement contingency plans.
• Track and analyze production metrics to identify trends and drive data-driven decision-making.
• Support the implementation of new technologies and equipment to enhance production capabilities.
• Ensure that assembly documentation is accurate and up-to-date to reflect current practices and standards.
