The Opportunity
Central Kentucky Sedation is seeking a dedicated and skilled Paramedic to support General Anesthesia case days at Pediatric dental offices throughout Central Kentucky. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with pediatric patients undergoing anesthesia and will thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. As part of a collaborative team that includes Anesthesiologists/CRNAs and Registered Nurses (RNs), you will assist with various tasks related to sedation procedures and patient care in a dental office setting.
This is a full-time salaried position offering competitive pay and benefits. Workdays are typically Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with travel required to multiple locations within Central Kentucky.
A Day In the Life Of
- Equipment Management: Travel with necessary medical equipment and supplies, ensuring proper set-up and breakdown of all equipment for each case day.
- Inventory: Monitor medical supplies to ensure adequate stock for each case day.
- Patient Support: Assist dental office staff by escorting sedation patients and their parents to the treatment area, providing reassurance and guidance.
- Anesthesia Assistance: Support the anesthesiologist/CRNA by assisting with intubation, IV placement, and other tasks as needed during sedation procedures.
- Patient Recovery Support: Help the PACU nurse with patient transfers to the recovery area, ensuring smooth post-sedation transitions.
- Room Turnover: Efficiently prepare the treatment room between patients to ensure readiness for the next procedure.
- Data Entry: Enter case day data into spreadsheets for performance analytics and billing purposes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Communication: Maintain clear communication with patients, parents, client offices, and the Central Kentucky Sedation team.
What You'll Bring To The Table
- Active Paramedic License
- Travel Requirements: Ability to travel to various office locations throughout Central Kentucky.
- Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license required.
- Certifications: Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications through KBEM recognized organization or the AHA.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail with the ability to keep track of multiple tasks and priorities.
- Team Player: Ability to quickly respond to calls, texts, and messages from team members and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. of medical equipment.
- Customer Service: A strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
