Job Title: Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (AME)
Location: Chattanooga, TN
About the Position:
Client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (AME) to join our team and support senior leadership’s strategic goals for profitability and growth. In this role, you will focus on driving cost reduction and quality improvement across products through Value Analysis/Value Engineering. You will collaborate with General Managers and cross-functional teams to execute operational projects and support annual initiatives aligned with the Senior Leadership Team’s strategic plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate product designs to identify opportunities for cost reduction via manufacturability enhancements, alternate sourcing, component standardization, and material optimization.
- Contribute to cost analysis of legacy and new products, supporting modularization and standardization efforts.
- Partner with Manufacturing Engineers to establish best practices for Item Structure (BOM) and Work Definition (Routing) in Oracle.
- Serve as the group’s digital and software expert for Oracle, Industry 4.0, CAD, Product Data Management, and shop floor user interfaces.
- Assist in managing the IS Capex process, contributing to CAR, PMO support, facilities and hardware standardization, and layout control.
- Work with management to provide insights on IS process capabilities, equipment standardization, and product rationalization.
- Play a key role in the facilitation of 3-year planning focused on product, process, and capacity rationalization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a focus on fabrication and assembly across multiple facilities and product lines.
- Expertise in various manufacturing processes such as metal cutting/forming, welding, fabrication, paint, and electrical assembly.
- Strong knowledge of BOMs, routings, and labor cost impacts.
- Experience with LEAN, Kaizen, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Inventor is a plus.
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage change in a multi-shift, heavy manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
