Join our team in Rochester, MN, a vibrant city known for its excellent healthcare facilities and quality of life. We are seeking a dedicated professional to perform essential duties in vascular access and phlebotomy across multiple hospital campuses.
Primary Responsibilities / Accountabilities :
Obtain quality blood samples using various phlebotomy methods, adhering strictly to regulatory requirements and procedures.
Work primarily between two hospital campuses (RMC and SMC) covering general patient care areas, including pediatrics.
Provide phlebotomy support services to Intensive Care Units and the Operating Room (OR).
Ensure accurate patient identification, specimen labeling, handling, and transportation, as well as accurate specimen testing using Point of Care (POC) equipment.
Utilize a variety of computer programs / systems efficiently.
Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
Exhibit excellent customer relations and communication skills during phlebotomy procedures and interactions with patients, nurses, and healthcare professionals.
Demonstrate a positive and professional demeanor, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Possess skills in coping, understanding, following instructions, organization, prioritization, attention to detail, problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making.
Qualifications :
Completed High School (Diploma or GED).
Inpatient / hospital experience and National Phlebotomy certification (e.g., NHA, ASCP) preferred. MLT / MT / CLS degreed candidates with phlebotomy experience are encouraged to apply.
Graduate of a phlebotomy training program with a clinical rotation or 3 months of phlebotomy experience.
