Based in Garland, Texas, this critical role will work as part of a corporate services team - who support employee populations across the US and Canada. Working a hybrid schedule, with three days in office, and 2 at home - you will manage the administration of benefits in its entirety for an employee population of approximately 2300, with 750 employees based in Canada, and 1500 based in the United States.

Possessing extensive benefits management experience , where you have both worked as an independent contributor and managed teams, you are a self-starter and independent thinker who enjoys rolling up your sleeves, owning projects and working through details to drive positive results. You thrive in a fast-paced team environment, are particular about ensuring that details are correct (dotted is and crossed ts) and genuinely enjoy people.

A critical member of the team, you will assist with system administration, ensure HR to Payroll data integrity, maintain key documents, and team member payroll and deduction information. Collaborate and provide support to the teams identifying gaps, recommending corrections, and implementing organizational policies to drive accuracy and improvements.

Having recently implemented a new HRIS (Dayforce / former Ceridian), initial projects will include :

  • Reconciliation of Vendors to new HRIS System (Dayforce), necessary to ensure that all information is coded correctly and housed within the proper areas
  • Review of all funding and charge backs to ensure that proper bill backs to internal entities is accurate.
  • Employee Benefit Management providing guidance and response to employees concerning their 2025 benefits, as open enrollment was recently completed.

Responsibilities :

  • You will serve as the primary contact for employees, respond to benefits inquiries on plan provisions, enrollment, status changes and other general inquiries.
  • Provide customer service support to internal and external customers including carriers and third-party administrators.
  • Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences / disabilities. Partner with leave administrator to process employee LOAs.
  • Administer the firms workers compensation program
  • Ensure the accuracy of all benefits enrollments & provide accurate eligibility information.
  • Process life events within the HRIS.
  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of required billing reconciliation, reporting and fees.
  • Develop communication tools to enhance the understanding of the firms benefits package.
  • Oversee maintenance of employee benefits, maintain HRIS and update employee payroll records
  • Partner with payroll team to perform quality checks of benefits-related data
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations concerning benefits administration, including compliance reporting for carriers.
  • Collaborate with HR leadership to align benefits programs with organizational goals
  • Conduct regular audits of benefits plans to ensure accuracy and effectiveness.
  • You Bring :

  • 7 years of senior level experience in benefits administration / management experience
  • Prior experience processing Canadian benefits
  • Bachelors degree in human resources, Business or a related field
  • Experience in Dayforce / Ceridian an asset but not required. Prior HRIS Experience is necessary.
  • Prior experience implementing process improvement initiatives or re-engineering processes.
  • Proven ability to analyze issues / problems, identify root causes, and implement solutions.
  • Experience successfully managing projects, including meeting project milestones and cost.
  • Knowledge of ERISA, IRS, and other benefit and payroll laws and regulations.
  • Understanding of self-insured benefit programs, defined benefit and contribution plans, and best practices in the compensation and benefits function.
  • Awareness of the general benefit & compensation marketplace (providers, products & trends).
  • Proficiency in PC skills, including Word, Excel, and HRMS systems / databases.
  • Strong knowledge of benefits regulations, including ERISA, COBRA, and ACA.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
