Your experience:
- Pharm.D. required
- 3 years of experience in hospital and/or ambulatory clinic pharmacy
- Hold an active, unrestricted pharmacist license (any state)
- BLS Certification (or obtained within first year)
- Completion of ASHP-accredited residency preferred
Your Day:
- Review, verify, and fill prescriptions with clinical judgment for safety and efficacy
- Provide direct patient counseling to improve medication adherence and outcomes
- Guide providers and nurses on optimal drug therapies and formulary selection
- Lead medication therapy management and chart reviews
- Supervise and educate pharmacy technicians and students
- Participate in quality improvement projects and pharmacy-led clinics
Area info: 3.5 hour flight to Juneau and 2hr 15 min. flight to Ketchikan. Car ferries are also available. The island offers over 100 miles of forest roads for mountain bikers, hikers, RVs. It's just beautiful scenery. The area is great for hunting, fishing, and camping. There's access to remote lakes, rivers, campsites, trails and scenic overlooks. Weather: The climate is similar to much of Southeast Alaska and Pacific Northwest coastal areas - mild winters with some snow and temperatures in the 20s and 30s. Summers are cool with temperatures that average in a high of 64 and a low of 50; though it's not uncommon to have several summer days reach the mid-70s. Wrangell gets about 80 inches of rain a year, which is less rainfall on average than most of Southeast.
