Tax Accountant - Sales & Use

We are looking for an experienced Sales & Use Tax Accountant for our client on a project basis. This contract role is hybrid with services being performed remotely and at times in offices in Charlotte, North Carolina.

• Manage audits related to tax compliance and reporting
• Conduct research and analysis on tax law changes and their impact on the client
• Maintain accurate tax working papers and documentation for compliance and audits
• Oversee sales and use tax compliance, ensuring accurate tax filings, across multiple organizations
• Utilize advanced Excel skills to perform tax calculations and analysis

• Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, or other related fields
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or Master's in Taxation preferred
• 5 years in corporate tax accounting, public accounting, or a related role
• Strong knowledge of corporate income tax and sales and use tax regulations
• Excellent proficiency in tax software including OneSource, Vertex, and Avalara
• Qualified applicants must reside in the continental U.S.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States now and in the future. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
