Job Requirements
This role involves coordinating in-house patient transportation or lift services requests. The primary responsibility is to provide safe, timely, and courteous patient transportation throughout the facility. This includes handling patients with oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, drips, Foley catheters, and other complex equipment.
Additional duties may include delivering deceased patients to the mortuary while adhering to policy and procedure. The role requires gaining confidence and cooperation from patients, their families/support groups, and other healthcare providers through competent job performance, attentive monitoring and care, and effective communication.
Compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures is essential to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care. The role may also involve performing specific tasks and/or orienting other staff to the department.
- BLS Certification
- High School Diploma or GED
- Acute care experience as a transporter or hospital experience
- Availability to work every other weekend
