Satcom Solution Architect

We are looking for a Satcom Solution Architect with experience on applying innovation into new Products, Services and improved Customer Experience. You will understand existing and emerging technology trends in the Satellite and Terrestrial connectivity space, with the ability to align innovative infrastructure and system capabilities with Business and Commercial requirements.

Hybrid-3 days per week in office.

·         Become part of the Product and Service Architecture function - define, architect and develop E2E Products and related Services, executing against the Product Development Roadmap across all target sectors

·         Collaborate with Product Development, Innovations, Engineering and other internal and external stakeholders to apply Enterprise level infrastructure and system components to support new and enhanced Products and Services

·         Support innovation & infrastructure/system development and integration to deliver core Enterprise capabilities – evaluate and recommend enhancements to existing infrastructure and systems to address growth, technology evolution and industry innovation

·         Collaborate on technology solution evaluations with our Innovations team and external technology development partners - evaluate new features/capabilities to enhance existing Products and introduce future products and solutions

·         Define acceptance and related test and validation criteria to facilitate the successful launch of Products

·         Collaborate with Commercial & Government Product Management stakeholders to drive alignment on Product & Service architecture and the linked Customer Experience

·         Provide knowledge and experience of industry best practices for network, platform technology and service architecture - demonstrate competence in network, Product/Service design and implementation strategies

·         Contribute to the Agile and LPM framework to support timely, incremental Product Development tied to business value, delivering value with each iteration

·         Prepare Product Architecture and Service Design documentation and support the development of Product Concept of Operation (CONOPS)

·         Support the development and approval of business cases for new Product development initiatives within the Agile Product Development framework

·         Understand the competitive landscape, including competitor service offerings and E2E solution components, feature parity and systems design

·         Support the development and management of key vendor relationships and other related tech provider/manufacturers that can bring new Product and Service capabilities into the Intelsat Product portfolio

Requirements:

·         Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Engineering or other technically oriented business focus, with at least 5 years of relevant experience in Product/Service/Network architecture and design, preferably including the Satcoms sector

·         Demonstrated Product Development experience, including Product lifecycle management, development and execution of Product plans and strategies - understanding of technology and business with an established background in launching Products in partnership with stakeholders

·         Must have at least 3 years of relevant experience in communications system design, implementation and support - Satellite, 3GPP, Evolved Packet Core (EPC), Software Defined Networking (SDN), Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) and Cloud initiatives as examples.

·         Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP) and Cloud Provider Certification or equivalent experience

·         Must have knowledge of traffic routing, including but not limited to: M/BGP, MPLS (traffic engineering, L2/L3 VPN), ISIS, OSPF/OSPFv3, RSVP, LDP, EIGRP, IGRP, RIP-1/2

·         Professional experience must encompass knowledge of switching, including but not limited to: CGMP, IGMP, 802.XX, Gigabit/Fast Ethernet, Vlan/Trunking (802.1q & ISL), Etherchannel, Wireless, Spanning Tree (STP), HSRP, VRRP, TRILL, CLOS

·         Must have knowledge and experience across wide range of technologies and network components, modems, routers, switch design and architecture as well as transport, routing and signaling protocols, preferably VSAT platforms too.

·         Must have knowledge and experience understanding industry best practices on network architecture and engineering and experience in Product/Service and system design and implementation strategies

·         Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain key architecture documentation required to introduce and support Product and Service lifecycle

·         A lean-agile mindset that prioritizes outcomes over outputs while aligning distributed teams toward the same

·         Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain and influence internal and customer working relationships at all levels

·         High degree of organization, individual initiative, and personal accountability with strong decision making, problem solving and analytical skills

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment

·         Flexibility to work in a rapidly changing environment and lead a team through change

·         Experience with project management tools like Jira, Jama, etc.

Preferred experience:

·         Experience in one or more Satcoms sectors. e.g. Mobility, Enterprise/MNO, Government, Media

·         Experience working in a global company

·         Respected and built a reputation by demonstrating Product expertise, representing your company as a speaker at industry conferences and publishing white papers
