Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Location: Grand Rapids, MI
Shift: 1st; Monday through Friday, 9am-6pm (On-call weekend availability)
Pay: $26-30/hr. (Based on candidate experience)
Job Overview:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining food processing equipment to optimize uptimes and utilization. Qualified candidates will have strong background in troubleshooting and repairing food manufacturing equipment. This individual will work with mechanical, electrical repair, and general maintenance throughout the plant.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Repair and maintain/improve all machinery and equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic/pneumatic troubleshooting and repairs.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as scheduled.
- Communicate with production and QA teams regarding machine repairs and re-cleaning needs.
- Assist in keeping the maintenance shop & parts store clean and organized.
- Work with manager to maintain the company building and grounds.
- Equipment improvement/modification projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of electrical & general maintenance experience. (Required)
- 5 years of blueprint reading & hydraulic repair experience. (Preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing equipment.
- MIG/TIG welding experience a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic/pneumatic blueprints.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.; Physically able to perform duties of the job.
- Organized and detail-oriented.
- Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
- Willing to work in a team environment.
- Willing to work a flexible schedule & be on-call for emergency repairs.
