Who We Are

Talent Together is a statewide consortium of all 56 of the state’s Intermediate School Districts (ISDs) and Regional Educational Service Agencies (RESAs). The consortium has committed to working closely together and with key partners, including colleges and universities, the Michigan Department of Education, the Department of Labor, and the Michigan Educator Workforce Initiative to design and implement a suite of programs that provide pathways into the teaching profession.

Talent Together seeks to provide equitable access and opportunity to the teaching profession by eliminating barriers and providing multiple levels of support to ensure candidates can complete a high-quality teacher preparation program. What We Do

The Talent Together consortium has pledged to significantly increase access to the teaching profession by innovating to overcome common barriers such as the cost of coursework and the need to earn a living wage while seeking certification. By creating a Registered Apprenticeship Program that includes job-embedded coursework and comprehensive on-the-job support and learning from expert teachers, our consortium will create more opportunities for people in communities across our state, many of whom are already working and serving students in our schools, to successfully join and remain in the teaching profession.

What You’ll Do

As the Senior Director of Programs, you will be a key part of executing the work of the Talent Together management team. This person will drive internal and external processes focused on program design and implementation, the teacher candidate experience, people management and leadership, and stakeholder engagement. The Senior Director of Programs will design and execute strategies that ensure all Teacher Candidates have a positive experience with Talent Together, and are well prepared to serve as educators who effectively develop student learning and positive school going experiences.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university
  • Preferred) Master’s degree in education, education leadership, non-profit management or similar field
  • 2-3 years of work in a similar role that includes people, program and / or project management involving multiple functions, including experience and comfort working directly with executive level leadership and support with Board management
  • Experience developing, using, and maintaining management tools and systems
  • Experience and comfort conducting meetings and facilitating or supporting virtual presentations
  • Proficient with software and technology including Zoom, Microsoft and / or Google suite
  • Preferred) Experience working in school or school-district based roles

    • Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee program quality and fidelity by : Designing, documenting, and implementing systems and processes for all Talent Together program functions, including design iteration and expansion, Teacher Candidate support and coaching, staff development, and external stakeholder engagementHiring and supervising program staff, including creating detailed onboarding plans, weekly employee check-ins, providing ongoing feedback on work products and behaviors, performance management processes including evaluations, and individual development plansDesigning and facilitating cycles of role-specific professional learning and job-embedded coaching for full-time staff members
  • Directly supervising Talent Together’s Regional Program Directors and other team members including providing job-embedded coaching supports and evaluating staff performance
  • Liaises with key stakeholders, including the Department of Labor, Michigan Department of Education, external vendors and contracts, and Talent Together’s Post-Secondary Instruction (PSI) partners to ensure program fidelity and effective management of the consortium’s Registered Apprenticeship Program
  • Collaborate with the Talent Together Executive Director and management team to set and monitor Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) for programs, with accompanying priority projects to ensure program success
  • Collaborates with the Senior Director of Finance and Operations and the Director of Data and Analytics to design and manage recurring data collection and analysis cycles
  • Coordinate with the Project Director, other central team members, and regional teams and to ensure the creation and execution of detailed project plans that include deadlines, milestones, and inter project dependencies
  • Provide detailed program status updates, including successes and areas for improvement (with recommendations) to the Talent Together Executive Director and Board
  • Identifies and programmatic expansion and improvement opportunities; engages Board program committee in regular cycles of feedback and improvement
  • Maintain strong record keeping for federal and state programs and grants, including monitoring progress and communications in Salesforce, Canvas, CRAFT, and other systems
  • Provide excellent customer service to a number of stakeholders in a wide variety of roles

    • Salary and Benefits

    Salary range of $132,000-$151,627, based on qualifications and experience. Benefits include : health, vision, and dental insurance; paid time off; employee assistance program, long term disability insurance; life insurance; and retirement benefits through the Michigan Public School Employees’ Retirement System (MPSERS).

    Terms of Employment

    Full time, non-union position; hybrid work environment. This position reports to Talent Together

    Executive Leadership. This role is based in a home office. All Talent Together staff members are required to live in Michigan and will be required to travel to various locations in the state.

    Salary : $132,000 - $151,627
