Talent Vision, a Staffing and Consulting Firm, is partnering with a respected charter school in Rochester, NY, to fill a Special Education Teacher position. As a Special Education Teacher, you will support students with diverse learning needs and ensure they have access to a quality education. Your commitment to inclusivity and individualized instruction will help students succeed and thrive academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, tailoring instruction to meet their unique learning goals.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and other support staff to provide appropriate accommodations and modifications for students with special needs in the general education setting.
- Use various instructional techniques, materials, and technology to engage students and promote learning.
- Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies to meet individual needs and learning styles.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students in inclusive and small-group or one-on-one settings, as needed.
- Implement behavior management strategies and support students' social-emotional development.
- Utilize data and ongoing assessment to monitor and document student progress and collaborate with parents / guardians to communicate student achievements and areas for growth.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to developing and implementing students' individualized education plans.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective instructional practices and strategies.
- Stay current with research-based best practices in special education and participate in professional development opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with school and district policies.
