Responsibilities

The Grants Program Manager is responsible for the comprehensive administration and oversight of all research grant-related activities within the organization. This includes the development and submission of competitive grant applications, management of awarded grants, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and guidelines, and providing support and guidance to investigators throughout the grant lifecycle. The position requires strong financial acumen, exceptional communication skills, and a deep understanding of extramural funding agency regulations and federal / state laws. The Grants Program Manager will call upon this working knowledge to independently guide and advise investigators and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with funding obligations, cost accounting principles, extramural reporting obligations and related local policies. This position serves to promote proposal development to maximize extramural research funding opportunities and ensure successful grant outcomes with minimal to no supervision.

Qualifications

Experience5 years related work experience or combination of education and experience as determined by the hiring manager.7 years work experience or combination of education and experience preferred.

EducationBachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of 5 years relative experience as determined by the hiring manager.Master’s degree or equivalent combination of 7 years relative experience as determined by the hiring manager is preferred.

LicensureCertified Research Administrator (CRA) preferred

Special SkillsProficient computer skills, proactive, strong organizational skills, demonstrated knowledge of organization andadministrative processes, excellent verbal and communication skills.

TrainingExperience in the area of grants management, grants negotiation, and research compliance. Familiarity with federal and private granting agencies and their regulatory requirements.
