Develops and monitors protocols and policies to ensure accurate patient dosimetry.Performs and monitors imaging equipment testing and calibration. Develops and implements appropriate shielding designs, frequentsurveys, and routine exposure monitoring.Monitors appropriate use of radiation therapy treatment planning systems, including the characteristics of the dose optimization software, theprecision of generated patient and beam geometry, and the applicability of dose calculation algorithms to different clinical situations, including heterogeneity corrections.Additional Job Description : Board certified or board eligible as a Therapeutic Radiologic Physicist by The American Board of Radiology (ABR) or by The AmericanBoard for Medical Physics (ABMP).On Staff : There are three physicists, one is the chief and RSO. 4 dosimetrist, 1 is as needed. 2 oncologists. 10 therapists and 3 nurses.Charting SystemAllscripts - Psych uses SunriseEquipment : Two 4.1 true beam, with 6dof couch, both held at srs and SABR tolerance.Only one linac has Rt vision, and used for DIBH. Each linac has an average of 30patients. Annual patient load for both is about 800 pts a year.Gamma med HDR, and only perform GYM procedures.A discovery CT with deviceless 4D.
