- This Service Engineer will join our field support team, traveling to client facilities and performing specialized analyses in our Springfield, IL office. The preferred location for the FSE is near Minneapolis, MN. But, there are numerous cities in the Upper Midwest US region that are satisfactory, including Omaha, NE. This position covers a large geographic region.
- Complete preventative maintenance on either Delta or Perten Instruments equipment within the region. The Field Service Engineer will work with Service Coordinator to firm up schedule with customers, confirm all prerequisites are in place, and complete the work.
- Complete installs for either Delta or Perten Instruments equipment. The Springfield, IL office will coordinate this activity with the Field Service Engineer. The install will consist of setting up the instrument with appropriate calibrations, and qualifying the instrument. The Field Service Engineer will need to coordinate with Specialist to get training completed. This duty will also require site surveys before installation when required.
- Complete minor repairs for Delta Instruments on location with guidance from Specialists. This will need to be managed by the Field Service Engineer. Other Field Service Engineers or Service Technicians may be called on to manage these commitments.
- Due to complexity of instrument integration into customer's networks, the Field Service Engineer will need to coordinate with Specialists for communication and security protocols to work with customer's systems.
- Provide assistance with Application Support on all equipment.
- Display exceptional written and verbal communication skills and actively interface with peers and customers
- Develop organizational awareness of other functional groups and product lines
Basic Qualifications
- Technical Degree or equivalent work history
- Travel up to 75%
- Knowledge of GMP and Plant Safety Protocols
- Strong interpersonal skills, team player with customer satisfaction focus
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions, read and understand technical bulletins and service manuals, work under time constraints, maintain alertness and concentration, work safely with potential electrical, chemical, radiologic, and biologic hazards using universal precautions
- Licensed driver
- Ability to operate personal computer to enter data and generate reports, ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers, managers, customers, and other technical support professionals is critical to successful performance in this role
